A LINK TO THE PAST - WEAPON GUIDE

This guide shows you all the possible weapon upgrades in A Link To The Past and how to get them.

Arrow Capacity

  • Link starts off with carrying just 30 arrows when he gets the Bow and Arrow. This can be upgraded up to 70. To do this go to the Pond of Happiness which is located in South-east of Hyrule, in Lake Hylia. Swim to the Island and go inside the cave, go up to the pond and it will ask you to throw an amount of rupees in. If you throw 100 in, a fairy will appear asking if you would like to carry more bombs or arrows. You will only be able to carry 5 extra arrows but if you have lots of rupees, then repeat the process, to get even more.

    Bomb Capacity

  • Link starts off with carrying just 10 bombs when he first gets to use them. This can be upgraded up to 50. You will only be able to carry 5 extra bombs but if you have lots of rupees, then repeat the process, to get even more.

    Magic Meter

  • To upgrade your magic meter, go to the area area just east of Kakariko Village, where you can get your sword tempered. There is a cave and then there is a hole next to it. Go up the stairs, use your hammer to pound the peg and then jump down into the hole. You will land in a room with two doors, go through the top until you reach a green type statue/idol. Sprinkle some magic powder on it and a bat will come out all angry so he will cast a spell at you. Now you will only use up 1/2 of magic when you use it. He makes it seem like he's punishing you when actually he's doing you a favour.

    Swords

  • White Sword
You get this off Link's Uncle when you find him in Hyrule Castle.

  • Master Sword
You get the Master Sword after collecting all three pendants. It is located at the far north-west of the Lost Woods. You need this to complete the game.

You now have re-united him with his friend. They will offer you to temper your sword to make it stronger as a reward for just 10 rupees. Leave the house and come back about 5 minutes later to collect your sword.

  • Golden Sword
First you will need the super pink bomb. Go to the Bomb Shop, which is where Link's house was in the Light World. After getting the sixth crystal, the Super Bomb will now be up for sale. Buy it and walk the bomb to the Pyramid and blow up the big crack in one of the walls. Go inside and there will be a fountain. It will ask if you would like to throw an item in.
